The Técnico Innovation Centre is a project designed to be a multi-purpose space with open laboratories and workshops, a FabLab dedicated to rapid prototyping, a lounge area, a cafeteria and a co-working space for all University of Lisbon students, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
This project will make it possible to develop R&I (Research and Innovation) activities, but also pre-incubation of projects in the proof-of-concept phase, pitches and the organisation of technological, scientific, cultural and educational events, such as workshops, seminars, fairs and exhibitions, bringing the academic community closer to the business community and the general public.
With this new building, IST intends to increase its participation in international projects, develop cutting-edge and interdisciplinary research areas, increase advanced training and increase the international mobility of researchers.
