TPS has completed the refurbishment work that prepared the Mafra Palace to house the renovated National Music Museum, a project of great cultural and heritage significance.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Margarida Balseiro Lopes, the Mayor of Mafra, Hugo Moreira Luís, the Director of the National Music Museum, Edward Ayres de Abreu, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Museus e Monumentos de Portugal, Alexandre Nobre Pais, among many other dignitaries.
The new facilities, with around 2,000 m² of exhibition space, extend across the palatial and conventual areas of the Royal Building of Mafra, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Completely renovated, the space houses one of the most important collections of musical instruments in Europe, covering pieces from the 12th to the 21st century, integrated into an innovative visitor experience with multimedia and multisensory experiences.
A project that honours the past, values culture and reaffirms the quality of the work carried out by TPS.
