University of Coimbra – BIOMED

The construction of the UC Biomed building at the University of Coimbra represents a milestone of great scientific and technological significance for Portugal. The facility was designed to house Southern Europe’s first Multidisciplinary Institute of Ageing, dedicated to the study of the biological processes of ageing and to the development of biomedical research of international standing.

Located at Campus III of the University of Coimbra, the building comprises research laboratories, advanced technological platforms and highly specialised scientific support facilities, establishing itself as a strategic centre for innovation in the fields of health, longevity and the medicine of the future.
