BIOPOLIS – Scientific Infrastructure at Quinta do Crasto

BIOPOLIS has officially opened its new headquarters, consolidating its position as a centre of excellence in biodiversity, environmental biology and sustainability research. Located at Quinta de Crasto in Vila do Conde, this infrastructure is the result of a partnership between the Biodiversity and Genetic Resources Research Centre (CIBIO) at the University of Porto, the University of Montpellier (France) and Porto Business School.

The ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, the Minister for Education, Science and Innovation, Fernando Alexandre, the Minister for the Environment and Energy, Maria da Graça Carvalho and the President of Biopolis, Nuno Ferrand, who emphasised the strategic importance of BIOPOLIS for Portugal’s sustainable future.
